Tower of Fantasy characters represent the best fighters this new fantasy world has to offer, so let’s take a look at all launch Simulacra and their weapons

So you want to know about Tower of Fantasy characters? Known in-game as ‘Simulacra’, these are the new anime game’s collectable personae that you can earn. Sometimes they come as quest rewards, but the main unlock method is through interacting with the myriad of progression systems, Tower of Fantasy events, and the ‘special order’ banners that you’ll recognise from similar open-world games like Genshin Impact.

You might also see characters referred to by their signature Tower of Fantasy weapon. Unlike in Genshin Impact, Tower of Fantasy characters are unlocked the moment you obtain their weapon – you won’t have to draw for both, and you can’t get one without the other. Characters are also separated into SSR and SR tiers – a slightly old-school version of the five and four-star (respectively) system you’ll recognise from elsewhere.

Each character has two character traits that you can unlock by earning awakening points, which are generated by completing character story missions and giving them their favourite gifts. Let’s take a look at all 18 Tower of Fantasy characters available at launch.

There are 13 SSR characters available in Tower of Fantasy right now. These are generally only available as high-tier event rewards or via the ‘special order’ banner system. Every SSR character has an alternate skin that is unlocked when you progress the Simulacrum to three stars.

Nemesis’ weapon, Venus, is a support, volt-type pair of aerial/shoulder laser weapons. This Angel of Clemency becomes an incredibly powerful killing machine under the mind control of the Sage.

Frigg’s weapon is an ice-type blade. She’s a central character in the game’s storyline, has an interesting perspective about life, and a fairly blunt personality.

Karasuma, known as Crow, is a jokester. He loves fun, and shows off with a dagger trick or two. Crow’s weapon is an offensive, volt-type pair of dual blades.

Claudia’s weapon is an offensive, grievous-type blade. A tough leader, Claudia is not one to be meddled with, but has a secret soft side once you get to know her.

Cocoritter’s weapon is a support, ice shell-type staff. A healer, Cocoritter is determined to help others, but her unwavering trust in others can be a cause for concern.

Cobalt-B’s weapon is an offensive, flame-type gun, and you meet her in Hykros as part of the initial storyline.

KING’s weapon is an offensive, flame-type scythe. You will meet him as part of the initial storyline as the organiser of the tournament. He has a strong personality and is heavily influenced by money. Well, he’s got to pay for those flamboyant clothes somehow.

Shiro’s weapon is an offensive, grievous-type chakram. The scientist is obsessed with the ocean, and it’s pretty much the only topic she’s interested in.

Tsubasa’s weapon is an offensive, ice shell-type bow. Her incredible archery skills are down to her skilful use of wind and gravity. Out of battle, she makes friends easily thanks to her bubbly personality.

Huma’s weapon is a defensive flame-type shield axe. Her incredible strength is the result of a rare disease, for which Huma is being looked after at Hykros.

Samir’s weapon is an offensive, volt-type pair of pistols. She may be laid-back, always playing pranks on others, but when it comes down to it, Samir is a fiery gunslinger – and one of the best.

Meryl’s weapon is a defensive ice-type claymore. The Senior Executive for Hykros, Meryl has outstanding combat skills, and excelled in battle, but keeps herself to herself.

Zero’s weapon is a support, flame-type cube. He destroyed all information about himself, so no-one really knows much about him – other than that he’s a computer genius.

There are five SR-tier characters available at launch – you get one as part of the early-game story quests, and and it’s easier to obtain others than it is SSR-tier characters. Even rewards, and the special order banners, are the other main sources.

Echo’s weapon is an offensive, volt-type halberd.

Pepper’s weapon is a support, volt-type staff.

Bai Ling’s weapon is an offensive, grievous-type bow.

Ene’s weapon is a defensive, ice shell-type maul.

Hilda’s weapon is an ice shell chain gun.
